South Village Singers

Community Choir of Southbank

Who are the South Village Singers?

South Village Singers are an enthusiastic group who get together each week for an energetic session of singing and good company.  We are a choir for 'all comers' all ages, all walks of life and we cater for a range of musical interests. We rehearse in the Assembly Hall at Boyd Community Hub.  It is a great space with plenty of room to move.  We start with a warm up at 10.30am with singing led by Kerry Gerraty, our Music Director.  Kerry is a professional choir leader and accompanist and we learn something new about singing techniques every week.  From time to time, we have a visit from social justice musician, Levi McGrath who brings his guitar and we have a real 'change up' in style and music.
We started in late 2018 and had our inaugural public performance at the 2019 Rotary Conference at Melbourne Exhibition Centre in front of 2000 guests.

At 12.00pm we share some lunch and a cuppa. Everyone is welcome. Add some fun to your week.  Come for a session and join the group if it feels right for you.
